Data Dictionary
Interest data is collected by Google Trends.
The value beside a location is search interest—a metric derived from Google web-searches that ranges between 0–100.
A value of 100 is assigned to the location with the most search interest during a given time interval. The interval used below is Jan 1st 2021–July 14th 2021. Other location’s values are scaled proportionate to this value.
Search interest is also proportionate by location to its total search traffic. This is why a smaller location can show more interest than a larger one—a larger percentage of users are searching.
